Technician efficiency formula
Efficiency = flagged hours ÷ actual job hours × 100
If 3.0 labor hours are flagged and the work takes 2.5 actual hours, efficiency is 120%. A result above 100% means the produced labor time was greater than the time spent on the job.
Efficiency is not the same as productivity

- Compare the same type of work and the same length of time.
- Track parts, approval, dispatch, training, and equipment delays separately.
- Review trends instead of judging one difficult repair.
- Never trade correct diagnosis, safe repairs, documentation, or final verification for a higher percentage.
